This internal lime plastering project proved particularly challenging due to the height of the ceilings, the irregular shaped walls, and the presence of original exposed beams that required careful protection throughout the works.
We began by removing the old, failed plaster, which had been contributing to internal damp issues, flaking paint, and cold, unresponsive walls. Once the substrate was fully prepared, the property was re-plastered using a traditional three-coat lime render system, carefully applied to ensure both durability and breathability throughout the home.
Great care was taken around the original timber beams, with protective measures in place to preserve these key architectural features while working to tight and awkward angles caused by the building’s structure. Despite these challenges, we were able to achieve a clean, consistent and immaculate finish throughout.
To complete the transformation, the lime render was finished with a high-quality potassium silicate mineral paint, providing a breathable, long-lasting and visually refined surface.
The homeowners were absolutely delighted with the end result and the improvement in both comfort and appearance throughout the space.
